Todd Newman brings a calm, practical, and encouraging approach to therapy, shaped by years of experience working with individuals across a wide range of needs. With experience as both a therapist and case manager, Todd has supported clients with developmental disabilities, severe emotional challenges, substance use concerns, and trauma-related conditions.
He has worked in outpatient clinics, community mental health settings, and public health environments, always with a focus on building real-world coping strategies that promote growth and confidence. His approach is friendly and solution-focused, helping clients better understand the underlying causes of their challenges while working toward achievable goals.
Todd is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing. He specializes in supporting clients with anxiety, PTSD, substance use, mood disorders, and developmental or severe emotional disturbances.
He earned his Associate’s Degree in Applied Science, as well as his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from The University of Akron. He is committed to demystifying therapy and helping clients feel that their experiences are valid, human, and workable.
“I believe therapy can help uncover answers we don’t always see on our own,” Todd says. “Sometimes, we just need a third party to help us find what’s already there.”
Outside of work, Todd finds joy and grounding in music and family life. As a musician, creativity plays a central role in his self-care and connection with others.
