As an Operations and Clinical Coordinator in Psychiatry, Sophia Gough plays a vital role in connecting patients with the psychiatric care they need. Serving as a liaison between patients, providers, and administrative teams, she ensures that each step of the process from referral to follow-up is handled with compassion, efficiency, and care. Sophia manages incoming referrals, coordinates provider schedules, assists with medication management and refills, and works closely with insurance companies to minimize treatment delays.

Sophia’s career has spanned both nonprofit and private practice settings, with previous experience as an orthopedic surgery scheduler and as a nurse in an OB/GYN practice. These roles helped shape her skills in patient advocacy, clinical scheduling, and care coordination, all of which she brings to her work at HWS. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education with a focus in Middle Childhood Education, and is a Licensed Practical Nurse.

In her role, Sophia values clear communication, consistency, and trust. She believes that compassionate leadership comes from collaboration and follow-through, and she strives to create an environment where patients and colleagues alike feel supported and understood. Known for her ability to diffuse potential conflicts with calmness and empathy, she helps ensure that every client’s experience is grounded in safety and respect.

Outside of work, Sophia enjoys reading, going to concerts, and relaxing at home with her cats and tortoise. She is proud to be part of the psychiatry team at HWS and finds joy in working alongside dedicated mental health professionals who share her commitment to improving the well-being of the community.
