Shana Ross is a Case Manager at HWS Best Health, with experience supporting children and adults in both educational and community settings. She previously worked as an autistic support staff member, providing one-on-one guidance, emotional regulation strategies, social skill development, and creating structured environments to help students succeed academically and behaviorally.
Shana works primarily with children, providing therapeutic case management, individual counseling, crisis intervention, care coordination with school staff and outside providers, and connecting families to community resources. She supports students with social-emotional skill building, attendance challenges, and access to basic needs. Her approach is client-centered and trauma-informed, emphasizing trust, empowerment, and holistic support to promote long-term growth and well-being. She believes consistent, compassionate support and strong relationships are key to helping individuals succeed.
Shana earned her bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Sciences from the University of Southern Mississippi and will be pursuing her Master’s degree this fall to further deepen her expertise. She was drawn to the mental health and social services field by a desire to help others and finds fulfillment in supporting clients through challenges and celebrating their growth. She is recognized for building strong rapport with students and staff and for being highly organized and reliable.
Outside of work, Shana enjoys spending quality time with her children and her dog, staying active through exercise, and traveling to explore new places. She takes pride in going above and beyond for clients while maintaining healthy boundaries, knowing that honest and compassionate guidance can foster growth.
“Something I’ve learned from working with people is that everyone’s journey is different, and sometimes just feeling heard and supported can make a huge impact. Patience, empathy, and consistency truly go a long way.”
