Sarah Edgell brings a wide range of experience and heart to her work with individuals and families. Her journey began as a lead teacher at the YMCA, where she supported children in before-school and after-school care and summer programs. During her time as a social work intern, she provided counseling to elementary students, laying the foundation for her passion in mental health. After earning her degree in social work from the University of Akron, Sarah served as the Social Services Director at Pleasant View Health and Rehab, supporting older adults and their families. Since then, she has been a dedicated counselor with HWS Counseling, working primarily in Tallmadge Schools.

Sarah has experience working with clients of all ages, from young children to teens, adults, and older adults. She has provided services in diverse settings including schools, rehab facilities, in-home sessions, telehealth, and traditional office spaces.

In her therapy work, Sarah is known for creating a safe, nonjudgmental space grounded in empathy, trust, and collaboration. She believes in the power of small, intentional steps and supports clients in understanding their own patterns, routines, and strengths. Her approach is both compassionate and practical, focusing on daily actions that help people feel empowered and move toward meaningful change.

Her areas of focus include anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, acute stress, couples counseling, school-based concerns, and parenting support.

Outside of her clinical work, Sarah enjoys time with her husband and children. Her family loves to cook new recipes together, get outside, and make memories—especially if it involves being near the water, boating, fishing, or simply taking a walk.
