Renee Yost, LPC, has experience supporting clients across many stages of life, from early childhood and adolescence to adulthood and older adulthood. Her background includes working as a case manager, counselor trainee, and MRSS therapist, with experience in outpatient and crisis settings. She has also worked with immigrant clients and individuals navigating a variety of mental health challenges.

Renee takes a person-centered approach that focuses on overall wellness, empowerment, and creating a safe space where clients can be themselves. Her areas of focus include anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, OCD, schizophrenia, first-episode mental health concerns, and crisis intervention. She incorporates CBT, DBT, CBT-P, and Motivational Interviewing into her work based on each client’s individual needs.

Renee earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Child Development from the University of Akron. She is also a member of the Ohio Counseling Association. She believes a client’s own motivation is one of the most important parts of therapy and helps guide the work they do together.

Clients can expect Renee to provide a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where they feel comfortable sharing their experiences. She considers it an honor to be trusted with a client’s story and believes each person should have the space to decide when and how they are ready to make meaningful changes.

Outside of work, Renee enjoys reading and painting. She especially appreciates the creativity that painting brings to her life and the opportunity to slow down and recharge.

Renee has learned from her clients that everyone has their own timeline for change. As she shares, “They will decide how and when they are ready to make change, and it is an honor to be a part of that journey.”
