Lisa Peters is a thoughtful and compassionate counselor who brings deep experience and a steady presence to her work with children, teens, and young adults. With a background in both inpatient and outpatient care, Lisa has supported individuals at every stage of life—from age five through older adulthood—through some of their most challenging moments.
Lisa’s clinical experience includes inpatient psychiatric care for children and adults, group and individual therapy for eating disorders in a partial hospitalization setting, outpatient counseling, and college mental health support. No matter the setting, her work is grounded in empathy, authenticity, and a genuine connection with her clients.
Her therapeutic approach is person-centered, with a strong foundation in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Lisa prioritizes building a safe, judgment-free space where clients feel fully seen, respected, and empowered. She’s especially passionate about helping young clients develop self-awareness and healthy coping strategies, and she brings a calm, insightful perspective to those experiencing crisis, acute care needs, or emotional overwhelm.
Lisa earned her Master of Science in Education for Mental Health Counseling from the State University of New York at Buffalo and holds a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Duquesne University. She is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Ohio.
Clients can expect Lisa to meet them where they are, with warmth, patience, and a deep respect for their process. “Therapy works best when it helps people connect to their strengths, feel their emotions fully, and build lasting insight for healthier, more empowered living.”
Outside of work, Lisa finds joy in nature runs, cooking, and time with her family. She’s also always ready for a karaoke night and loves to sing.
