QMHS+3
Psychiatry Coordinator
HWS Main Office
(330) 236-9895
Karla Dennis wears many hats with heart and intention. Karla previously held the title of Case Management Lead Consultant, where she trained and supported new and existing case managers, offering hands-on guidance and encouragement in the field. As the Psychiatry Coordinator, Karla now assists with patient scheduling, record keeping, and communication between patients and providers.
With a background in nonprofit leadership and education, Karla previously directed an afterschool program for underserved youth in Canton City Schools and led prevention groups for at-risk teens across Stark County. She has also walked alongside survivors of trauma, abuse, and human trafficking by advocating, supporting, and helping them reclaim their voices.
Karla’s approach to leadership is grounded in humility, active listening, and transparency. She believes that when teams feel supported and heard, they’re better equipped to serve others with compassion and integrity. Whether she’s guiding school-based staff through new environments or offering a listening ear, Karla leads by example and builds trust through presence.
She’s also a facilitator for the Speaker’s Bureau of Summit County, where she helps survivors of sexual and domestic violence prepare to share their stories publicly—a role that reflects her deep commitment to empowerment and healing.
Outside of work, Karla finds joy in all seasons. Whether she's hiking, reading in the grass, skiing, or spending time exploring new places with her son and soon-to-be daughter-in-law. She takes pride in the meaningful, lasting relationships she’s built throughout her career and lives by a leadership philosophy of “accountability with grace.”
