Kari Sprout brings extensive experience in crisis response and trauma support to her work as a counselor serving both Louisville City Schools and clients in the office setting. Throughout her career, she has held roles such as Victim Advocate and Supervisor of Advocacy Services, including overseeing services at the Barberton Municipal Courthouse. In these positions, she worked closely with individuals and families impacted by crime and other traumatic events.
Kari’s counseling approach is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and her specialized background in crisis management. She strives to be a calm, grounding presence when life feels overwhelming, helping clients navigate immediate challenges while also building tools for long-term resilience. She works frequently with children and individuals experiencing trauma, anxiety, and grief, and incorporates the NOVA Model of crisis intervention in her work.
Kari holds a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Akron and a Master of Social Work from The Ohio State University. She is also actively involved in community partnerships, including the Stark State Continuum of Care Coalition, reflecting her commitment to strengthening support systems beyond the counseling room.
At the heart of Kari’s work is the belief that healing begins when people feel truly heard and empowered to guide their own journey. She strives to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can process challenges, discover their strengths, and move forward with confidence.
Outside of work, Kari enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter and traveling whenever they can. One of her favorite personal memories is getting married in a national park. Kari often reflects on an important lesson she has learned through her work: everyone’s response to trauma is different, and there is no one-size-fits-all path to healing.
