Julie Thompson brings more than 15 years of experience in nursing, advocacy, and community outreach to her role as Case Manager. Her career includes serving as a staff nurse at Planned Parenthood, Prevention Educator and Outreach Advocate at Compass Rape Crisis Center (at Malone College and Kent Tusc), nurse for group homes supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, and Regional Marketing Coordinator for the Ohio Children’s Alliance.

Julie has dedicated her work to supporting children, teens, adults, and individuals with disabilities, as well as survivors of sexual assault and foster youth. She has extensive experience in life-skills development, hospital and court advocacy, mentoring, and connecting clients with critical community and educational resources.

Her approach to case management is rooted in empathy, respect, and collaboration. Julie believes that by meeting people where they are and providing the right support and advocacy, anyone can succeed. She finds deep fulfillment in helping clients navigate complex systems, regain stability, and achieve their personal goals.

Julie is a Licensed Practical Nurse and a proud mother and bonus mother to nine children: two biological and seven “bonus” children, whose strength and resilience continue to inspire her work in mental health and advocacy. She is passionate about creating safe spaces for open communication and helping others feel heard and supported.

Outside of work, Julie loves spending time with her children and grandchildren. Married for 28 years, she lives by the belief: “Never judge anyone, because you have no idea where life and circumstances can lead you.”
