HWS Main Office

For more than 15 years, Jennifer Troop has been dedicated to supporting children, adolescents, and families through school-based mental health services. Her career has also included roles in foster care and adoption as a case manager, as well as serving families through the Help Me Grow program as a service coordinator. These experiences have given her a deep appreciation for the importance of relationships and early support.

Jennifer’s approach to counseling is collaborative, relationship-centered, and goal-oriented. She believes a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful change and works to create a space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered. Drawing from humanistic, cognitive, and behavioral approaches, she helps clients navigate anxiety, mood concerns, trauma, life transitions, relationship conflicts, and behavioral challenges.

Jennifer is a graduate of the University of Akron, and holds a bachelor's degree in Social Work, as well as a master's degree in Community Counseling. Jennifer believes clients are the experts in their own lives, and her role is to guide and support them as they work toward their personal goals.

Outside of counseling, Jennifer enjoys spending time outdoors, caring for animals, riding her horses, fostering puppies, and working in her yard. She also volunteers with a nonprofit at Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Cavaliers games, where she enjoys the excitement and energy of game day.

As Jennifer shares, “Meaningful change occurs when clients feel heard and supported.”
