Genevieve “Ginny” Kontra brings experience as a School Social Worker, where she has had the opportunity to support school-aged children in both school and telehealth settings. She has always enjoyed working with people and values the opportunity to help children navigate challenges and feel supported along the way.

Ginny takes a CBT-focused approach and believes one of the most important parts of therapy is truly listening. Her areas of focus include trauma, anxiety, depression, and ADHD, with an emphasis on understanding each client’s perspective and helping them work toward their individual goals.

Ginny earned her degree in Social Work from Cleveland State University. She strives to meet clients where they are and create a space where they feel comfortable sharing what they are experiencing. For Ginny, being able to listen, understand, and help someone move toward positive change is one of the most rewarding parts of her work.

Outside of counseling, Ginny enjoys reading and listening to music. She is also a proud cat mom to three cats and spends time coaching a softball team.

Ginny believes that “one of the most important and best things a good therapist can do is listen and understand where the client is coming from and how to help the client reach their goals.”
