Olufemi Olugbemiro is a compassionate and versatile counselor with a deep commitment to helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity, connection, and confidence. His experience spans a wide range of roles, from crisis intervention and group facilitation to parenting support and couples counseling. He works with young adults, professionals, people in recovery, and families seeking healthier ways forward.
Olufemi’s approach to therapy is rooted in empathy and guided by each client’s unique needs. He draws from a range of evidence-based practices, including Motivational Interviewing, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Whether supporting someone through anxiety, depression, addiction, or trauma, Olufemi ensures each session is centered on feeling heard, understood, and supported.
Olufemi earned a law degree from the University of Ibadan and his JD from the Nigerian Law School before pursuing his Master’s in Social Work at the University of Akron. Today, he blends strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of emotional and relational dynamics in his therapy work.
Beyond the therapy room, Olufemi serves on the board of a nonprofit organization that mentors middle and high school students. He’s also a music lover who enjoys walking, singing, traveling, and playing the keyboard whenever he gets the chance.
His guiding philosophy is: “People want to be heard and understood. That’s where healing begins.”
