Emily Sewell is the heartbeat of care coordination at HWS Best Health. As Treatment Care Coordinator, she’s often the first point of contact for clients and plays a key role in ensuring every person feels supported throughout their mental health journey. Whether it’s answering questions, coordinating referrals, assigning counselors, gathering paperwork, or connecting with outside agencies, Emily is there making sure no one falls through the cracks.
With a background rooted in both compassion and hands-on experience, Emily has held roles in a wide range of care settings. She’s worked in residential treatment for youth at the Christian Children’s Home of Ohio, where she supported girls navigating trauma and foster care. From direct care to clinical support, she’s bridged the gap between teams to create consistent, healing environments. She’s also volunteered in group homes, led summer camps, coached gymnastics, and even worked in the food service world. Each experience building on her natural ability to support others with patience and purpose.
Emily is certified as a Qualified Mental Health Specialist (QMHS-B) and in CPR, and she brings a people-first philosophy to everything she does. She believes that when clients and staff feel seen and heard, real change can happen. Her approach to care is rooted in empathy, follow-through, and connection.
Outside of work, Emily loves spending time in nature, especially hiking and camping trips with her husband. Together, they’ve explored places like Arizona, West Virginia, and Minnesota. Life at home is equally lively, thanks to their two dogs and four cats who keep things interesting.
“I’ve learned that everyone has a story and that kindness, patience, and being present can make all the difference. Sometimes people just need to be seen.”
