Ashley Surgenavic brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to accessible mental health care in her dual roles as Clinical Supervisor and Program Development Consultant. With a background that spans private practice, non-profit organizations, and academia, Ashley thrives in collaborative environments where she can reduce barriers to treatment and help teams and clients alike flourish.
Over the years, Ashley has served in many settings including homes, schools, inpatient facilities, and community spaces, as a therapist, assistant residential clinical director, and outpatient clinical director. She is dually licensed as an LISW in Ohio and an LCSW in Pennsylvania, and she holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work from Youngstown State University, where she also teaches in the Social Work Department.
Ashley’s clinical interests include trauma-informed care, and she is trained in EMDR. She’s especially passionate about building supportive systems for care providers and is an active member of the Stand, Grow, Thrive Trauma-Informed Care Committee in Mahoning County.
As a leader, Ashley describes her style as democratic and inclusive, with a focus on listening, building cohesion, and helping others reach their potential. Organization and communication are among her greatest strengths, and she finds deep fulfillment in lifting up her team.
Outside of work, Ashley enjoys cooking, spending time with her husband, daughter, stepson, pets, and loved ones. She’s proud of the resilience that’s shaped her journey, both personally and professionally.
