Andrea Vretas is a counselor at HWS Best Health, specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy. She has extensive experience in both private practice and community-level work, supporting clients involved in foster care, inpatient settings, and those experiencing severe mental health challenges. Her professional background includes roles as a Qualified Mental Health Specialist (QMHS), crisis specialist, MFT intern, and licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

Andrea practices a humanistic and experiential approach, taking a laid-back, one-down stance in which clients are viewed as the experts on their own lives. She specializes in couples and family therapy, focusing on relationships, sexuality, infidelity, relationship discernment, and other relational concerns. Andrea emphasizes empowering clients to take charge of their lives, make meaningful changes, and believe in their ability to grow and thrive.

Andrea earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Kent State University and her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Akron. She is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. Known for her affirming, non-pathologizing approach, Andrea creates a supportive environment where clients feel seen and understood.

Outside of her work, Andrea enjoys yoga, horticulture, exercising, and spending time with her dogs, niece, and nephew. Fun facts about her include having been struck by lightning and the ability to solve a Rubik’s cube.
